No snow shoes ... but I would love to sneak in one more tent camping trip. Hard part is finding the time this time of year.
We're also really trying to find a weekend to rent a cabin, think the kids would love that.
Widning down the pump jacks and winding down the siding job ... which is nice ... as I started siding last year right around this time. Worked a huge hardi siding job all thru last winter. Only lost 2 days due to weather.
Most mornings found me and the helper climbing out an attic window, dragging the propane torpedo heater and tank out on to an iced over pic ... and army crawling our way down on hands and knees melting the ice as we went.
Temps are just starting to dip now ... I'm amazed at what we got used to last winter!
As it is ... presented a proposal for a full basement conversion that's start pretty much immediately after the siding job is done. Would make for around 4 months of inside work.
Wouldn't know how to act. I came in higer than the competition ... so she needs a coupla days to think and crunch numbers. Fri is decision day.
Just yesterday I took a quick look at another hardi siding job ... they want to talk to the designer I work with as the house is T-111 on the top story and battle ship gray brick down below ... and all she knows is she hates the exterior.
Definitely not as big a siding job as the last two.
First one was 40sq and current is 30. but those big ass sheets of hardi, 10ft'er cut down to 9ft.
Job I just looked at is around 15sq.
My luck ... I'll lose the basement and the siding lady will suddenly pick a style and new color scheme ... and I'll be outside with the siding gun again!
and up on those damn pump jacks ...
kid got pulled aside in karate class by the sensei for a little one on one. That's a sign he's getting close to earning a stripe.
and he just started picking up his little guitar a bit more often ... and saying he needs a new amp. Buddy helping me on the siding plays, and just happened to have a nice small amp in his van he asked if I wanted. He's gonna clean it up and trade for $10 and a nice lunch.
Probably a $50 amp in beat condition. He'll have it looking almost brand new. Kid will be thrilled.
