I'll have to mention this place to Jerry. He's done some experimenting with solar water heaters, and actually burnt his hand pretty good over it.
I've heard, (never tried), that washer and shower water is good for the garden, that's why I asked.
No I haven't look much at all for open source CAD programs, I need to, and have been meaning to, but I'm getting kinda busy and haven't made the time yet.
I've been getting hit this last few weeks by a couple of companies putting me thru the gauntlet as far as interviewing goes. One is for a job just like my old one, Underground plumbing stuff. Mostly service. They want me to run the crew/operate equipment, there would be 2 guys under me. Just did my 3rd interview, and took a drug test for that one yesterday. The pays not the best and the drive would be longer that I really care for, but it might be a good thing if I can do some talking with them.
The other is a job for a maintenance tech at Zappos.com. They have a "White Elephant" type building, actually two. and they are wanting a night shift Tech to help with the automated sorting/conveyor system. It's right around the corner compared to the other job, and the pay is the same, only way better benefits.
Both are good jobs as far as things I like to do, and after about 16 months of lay off, I'm chopping at the bit to get back to work!!! Both are good leads, but nothing is written in stone yet, so in between I'm still trying to hit 5 companies a day for other leads. It gets old.
But when I get time to take a serious look into it I'll be checking out some CAD software.
