!Gaaahhhh !!
Too fast !
Too fast !
It's driving me crazy !!
Ok, so it was an very short drive...
Not exactly bored.
Getting things done.
I finished my rain collection system. Well, mostly. At least far enough that I could catch some water for laundry.
Oh, and I finished hooking up the washer and dryer. Yep, on the front porch. Grampaw would be proud of me. (He died several years ago, so he was probably watching while I set them up. LOL)
Should have gotten the rainwater collection system done, earlier.
Last two weeks here it has been raining so hard that I had to go down and jump in the river, just to dry out a bit.
Now that I actually have a couple barrels set up... You guessed it. No rain. Just grey clouds.
Speaking of grampaw, I saw him the other day.

I have been posting on a couple linux forums.
Aside from figuring out that I must have a real problem when it comes to posting...
I learned something else that has me wondering about what happened at Breaktime.
There are many "distros" or types of linux OS.
Each has a group of followers. Blogs. Forums. The main website. Etc.
One of those distros was becoming very popular. (Can't remember which one, but they are still around.)
VERY heavy traffic on their forums.
But they were just barely getting by, financially.
Finally, one day they had to cut way back.
What they did to the forum was almost identical to what happened at Breaktime. And it was done on purpose.
They intentionally made the forum experience distasteful, and drove away a LOT of their foum members.
The purpose was to cut down on the traffic, because they were paying through the nose for that.
Taunton has been struggling the past few years.
They lost their publisher.
They lost a lot of employees. (The ones that are left have to do the jobs of two or three others, before them.)
They had to do the same sort of drastic cutbacks as the aforementioned linux distro/forum.
They now have their own server. It can't be all that big. And I am thinking that they are not paying for a huge 'pipeline' for traffic.
They are using free/open source software. Paying for technical support. But nonetheless, they aren't paying as much anymore, for just the software.
Etc.
Looking back it seems almost eerily similar.
I am left wondering whether they DID do what they did, with the intentional goal of cutting back on the forum traffic ?
Hindsight being what it is, this does make sense. And explains a few things.

Oh, and where did I see my grampaw ?
