I get a bit OCD when it comes to something like learning this new OS.
I want to know all I can. I am addicted to learning.
Before it is all over, I will probably have broken it on purpose a hundred times, just to fix it. Best way to learn.
Right now, though, I am just trying to learn what I need to know to get by.
The biggest problem is not, not getting real answers on a forum... I can actually eventually figure it all out, on my own. (With all the other online resources, you can usually find a fix, just by searching the web and reading. As long as you can search, and can read/interpret instructions, you can eventually get it figured out.)
The problem is that doing so, requires so much of my broadband cap amount.
By the end of today, I will either have to get offline, and stay offline, or I will have to pay 25 cents for each megabyte over the cap that I use.
That can get expensive. All to fix and get running... a "free" OS. LOL

I have always used a third party email program. I used Eudora for many years.
I don't like the idea of tons of my emails sitting forever on someone else's server. And them thinking they can do whatever they want with them, because they "own" them...

The laptop is so freaking slow, it may take days to get it backed up. It's taken 20 minutes to install the backup program, and still hasn't finished.
