Bob wanted this posted here after I asked. You may not agree with his politics but he is "walking the walk".

I'm looking for pledges (promises) to determine whether I can afford to go to Haiti to work on a now critical water project near Les Ceye, Haiti

(that is - tell me now if you will be willing to contribute - tax deductible - to help me fund my mission trip - no actual donations to be made until I now if I have the funding.)

Missions International of America ("MIA"), www.missionsinternationalofamerica.com, has, among other things, dug a well near Les Ceye, Haiti - about 140 miles west of Port Au Prince, and a major target/goal for refugees from Port site

The well currently relies on diesel power to pump water, but MIA has just shipped a set of solar panels (donated by a leading US solar panel company - First Solar) to its project site.)

Diesel is becoming (or has already become) impossible to get there, however, and we need to get the solar installation done.

MIA is assembling a team to install the panels -- the first people for an temp installation in a day or two, the rest to follow ASAP. (We're shooting foranout a month from now, subject to fund raising and transportation*) (After the current emergency, the well and pump will also be used to irrigate and provide water in a basically desert area along 6 miles of pipe donated by a Rotary group: pipes

I've been asked to be on the team, but need about $2400 to finance my costs.

Please email any pledges to rjw.grace@gmail.com through my BT profile.

Thanks in advance

*Amazingly, the current transport problem is from here to florida.

From Florida,we have regular US army transport to Jamaica, and from Jamaica, we have chartered (with a number of other mission groups) 5 flights a day (12 passenger plane) to Les Ceye!
