In Pgh it's gonna be sunny and close to 80. But we're heading to the woods ... always about 5 or 6 degree's cooler there. Our "close to 80" is gonna be their "closer to 70".
Nights here are to be around 60 .... closer to low 50's in the tent. Kids will have sweats and lotsa extra socks for sleeping.
Thinking the little chill will mean no lake swiming and way more kayak time, which is fine by me! Also hearing the temps are bringing bigger fish closer to shore at night.
The wife's not 100% sold on the idea but I want at least one more long weekend, sometime in Fall, in the tent ... then at least one nice weekend camping in the snow ... that'll be in a cabin with fireplace.
I've been looking at snowshoes ... but even the cheap ones ain't cheap. For the very limited use they'd see just can't afford to outfit the family for a hike thru the snow.
Might just get some drywall bucket lids and make our own!
