In the last couple days, I've gotten to see this first hand.
Somebody started a "Computer geeks help me" thread in General. This went through some very good advice. It was even getting into very helpful specifics for both wintel and apple users. Then, the thread up and moved.
In fact, it moved while I was replying to it. Wound up in "Forum Suggestions" of all places (it's still there, too).
OP fired up another thread in General on "Thank you Geeks" commenting on how he was happy with the info he recieved, and he wanted to publicly say so where the thread started. That thread barely lasted the day until it was closed for posting. At least, it was not flat deleted.
In the "Is there a BT for computer questions?" thread, I advanced the notion that BT qualified as an ansswer, since we have (had) a variety of people who had to have (or learned) some tech savy in every possible way--or they'd not be there.
I may rethink that assertion.
