Fast Denny's the name,
Pool is the game.

We are back in the bar, turning the restaurant we scavenged and moved last Memorial Day wknd into a Pool Hall/Sports bar.

What was left of the old decor was removed, not much salvage. The cobbled up floor finishes were furred up to one level and underlayed.

8'x4'x1/4" mdo oak applied to wall to be railed and stiled later for a simple recessed panel wainscot. Luckily found in stock the ply with the grain run the other way. Much easier to mix and match grain pattern.

Johnny Boy, been stopping for a cold one in their business's since college. Usually a good place to run into some nice folks and the occasional obnoxious drunk. Goes with the territory I guess. Not sure as to the target audience.

Remember now, moderation is the key......geritol or not.

And to give credit where credit is due, Geno is running this job as he did back on the mem. day wknd. He's also a new member here. Welcome to a group of the biggest liars on the net.

Here's todays activities. The panels have been stained, rails and base mounted to the bar.

Sorry about the quality of the last shot, they brought me a cappucino............

Stiles applied. We will follow with final sanding, staining the flat surface and just inside the edge, applying a prestained panel mould to finish.

Neither of us understand that golden triangle feng shu thing. I suppose we have committed some sort of sack-religious murder with the layout of the panels, so if you can point it out, we will learn.

Front deck with "to be made and set", low bar top. 36" on the room side/30" on the deck side.

John, a keen eye you have. That would be the second in 30 yrs, the first met an untimely death in an elevator accident. I would guess that was early 80's. Can't beat a good thing. Fond memories of working on a large commercial site and trying to keep track of "your" stanley. Funny how they all look the same. If you had a new one, almost broadcast "new guy".

Mike, last May we scavenged and moved the business this space housed down the street. That one, SamB's is still in operation and doing well. Remember? that one was two squares to a foot...........

Now we return to the old location ( it sat idle for 10 months), and we build this new business.

Funny how these long narrow buildings look the same.
