I dunno man......I think SOME things are pretty obvious. And I'm pretty sure that MOST of the people who made those obvious crossings of the line know darn well what they did.
But I think there are too many instances.....especially in the mass sweep that took place....where certain "offenses" need to be spelled out.
Heck.....I received a two week time out a while back for posting a pic of Dancia Patrick in a bathing suit. The woman is a pin up model for crying out loud. I was supposed to know that someone might be "offended" by that? Anyone who has ever been to a beach/pool/tanning salon has seen a woman in a bathing suit.
I didn't put up a stink about it....took my punishment like a big boy.
I think the mod(s) coulda deleted the post and emailed me a warning rather than two weeks in the klink, though.
A bit more spelling out of the rules would be a good thing.

JP.....just a quick suggestion towards any revamping of the forum....and I posted this suggestion to Robin in the "Forum Suggestions" folder at BT. She (gasp) didn't bother to respond.
When a poster edits his own message, a notification is tagged to the bottom of the post alerting anyone reading that the post was edited, by the individual, and a date/time stamp is included.
I think it would be appreciated if such a tag was stamped on a post when a moderator makes such an edit as well.
And I thank you as well for coming over here to field the questions.

Your Danica Patrick episode was an example of the unevenness that the place was moderated with. There seems to be a gray area where something like that picture is OK one day and then the next day it's not. If the forum is gonna be moderated, then it needs to be moderated every day, not just Monday, Wednesday and Friday or however it's been done.
Having several moderators for each section is how I've seen it done elsewhere. That way, not much slips thru the cracks.

Lay off, man. I have never reported a post for porn. What I did was mention John Pauls statement that if the porn continued the Tavern would be shut down. I don't really care that much and I'm not quite sure why you are harping on it.
"I can tell you why certain words are banned -- we add them to a text file. The software has a preset list, and we can add others -- like ##### and #########. My guess is that CT isn't using the same file.
I'll be in contact soon, but a few points:
-- I will open the communication doors.
-- I don't really care if a banned member makes a new name is they behave this time. With the exception of using my name, not acceptable.
-- everyone needs to immediately stop posting any pics or links to porn (or this place will get shut down)
-- JHOLE is welcome to add his own flashing method in the gallery.
