Bio diesel

Given the price of fuel in this part of the world, alternative fuels are going to become viable. ( In fact came across a job the other day where the client was doing just that. making bio diesel out of frying oil. Costs him .40 cents a litre because he's not recovering his methanol and claims 20% increase in power)

Willie Nelson runs an operation in Texas. Our local Grain Elevator Co. is leading the way in NW Oh in the development and production of it here. I'll have to look this up to see what it all means. I'm sure there's got to be some "problem" with it of some kind. You know how they like to put up roadblocks on anything in the least - Anti Oil.

Along the same lines, here in mid-michigan, we have I believe 5 ethonal plants coming on line between now and the first of the year.
For reasons I don't understand, they can't send it long distances by pipeline so the plants are smaller and scattered around to allow for shipping by tanker to the different distribution centers.

There is quite a bit of lack of knowledge on these matters. I guess part of it could be my not searching it out. One of these cold winter nites I really should do some studying of our future. Might be something in there that might come in handy. I know the initial investment hasn't drawn much interest-foreign ground I guess.

Mark,

There was a post or three at Breaktime by a member from Austrailia named "Crabby1". The posts were about alternative fuels. And some of what he said and linked to, brinked on amazing.

I am hoping we can get him to come over here and share the same info.

Here is a link to the first of the posts...
