I make furniture using recycled wood. I am using scrabble letters like tiles to spell out sayings and songs. There is about 1/16th of an inch between them. Any ideas of what I could use for "grout"????? thanks

Using very coarse grit sandpaper, sand some compatible wood into coarse sawdust.
Mix that with glue.

Lukas suggestion of mixing white glue with fine sawdust and squeegeeing it in is one solution. I have used it with success. At present I'm using putty from Miniwax http://www.minwax.com/products/woodmaint/putty.cfm
which is available in different colours. There are quite a number of different puttys out there but if your gaps are 1/16 max you shouldn't have too much trouble.

S, welcome to QT.
To the above two ideas I could only add this for a possible "grout". Most tile suppliers carry color matched (to grout colors) caulk. This product will get firm yet stay flexible. There would be a little wood movement in the furniture that might crack out real grout, but the caulk should stay put and flexible with that minor movement. I would caution that a hairline crack that's filled might need to be widened to a large 1/16th/small 1/8th. Make sure your wood is sealed, apply the caulk and wipe clean with a damp clean rag (not a coarse rag so you don't pull out the caulk). Mask off any porous wood.
Best of luck.
Could you post a picture of your work? and a closeup of the inlaid letters?
