The generous folks at Fastcap have donated a pair of 3rd Hand HD's for auction. You can view them at their site 3rd Hand HD from Fastcap or read a review of them here 3rd Hand Review .
I am a satisfied user of what was initially bought for dust containment. Since then, I've used them for several other things where a third hand was needed. The last project I used them to brace out some FRP panels in a commercial bathroom. Before that, to hold my PLS2 laser while mounting cabinets and crown mold.
Some attachments are available to expand their use. One of which is a dedicated, adjustible laser mount.
Amazon has the pair for 69.00.
As usual, all proceeds go to keep this site up and running.

Andy. Just like the regular auction.
Watch,
blah blah blah, who'd like to start the bidding on this fine item up for bid?.........blah blah blah.
You post a number, or in your case, the autographed copy of FHB number 114. So I guess you started the bidding. There's no set amount of raising, but for us math challenged people, please.............no loose change.
We run the price up as high as humanely possible, and then the winner pays by check or paypal and the wonderful item is delivered to your door.
Look up some of the previous auctions. Some were pretty heated, some comical.
Nothin' to it.
Welcome aboard!
Ok, we have the autographed FHB # 114.
Who'll gimme ........................

Thank you Terry.
We now have a bid of 15 bucks for the pair of 3rd hands.
Excuse me terry, we'd best find out what andy feels that mag with the autograph is worth. And tho this isn't a swap meet, we gotta be gentle on the new guy. So for now, lets say that the opening bid was just that. No more items in trade, tho it could sweeten the pot in case of a tie.
We don't want to have to deal with any old dried up milk cows.

Alright, here's what I know for now.
Opening bid-the autographed mag.
We'll assume for now that it has face value, a little history and the autograph-?
That makes it at least Terry's bid of 15 bucks.
So, until andy tells us different (value) we have 15.
ojldkflq'lejlkdfn ldjf'aje'ijda 'adjf'jeo.df .........I got 15!
who'll give me 20?
l;akdjf;laa;kha'jpoej'vomojroj/zajdjfaj';f 20?
I bet you're real confused now.
And come on guys, they're worth a lot more than that.

Yes, I started working yesterday. So far, so good. Hard to beat a day spent replumbing a basement.
Cal, I'll go $55, and an autographed FHB 114, the one with me on the cover back when my hair was brown.

Holy Crap two!
This is indeed an honor, I should have looked up FHB 114 sooner. Good descriptive article on stair building by the then assistant editor of the mag. The rest of the issue is a keeper too. With a 6.95 street price, moreso due to it's antiquity and the autograph, I'm really unsure as to the value. As anything else, to the right person.................
But plain and simple, that 55 is higher than the 50...........
So, [ai[v9mum]q9'aojjf fj'mavj/alkgm aokm'amtj'oj;ojga/////////........
.I got 55 from the former brown haired guy, used to be an editor too...................55...............55...........
Do I hear 60 ?
I know, I know, the darn mag's thrown in there with it
Damn Andy. What the heck's (Hey Heck!) that do to it?

Dangit Armin. We already have 55 bucks..........and an autographed copy of FHB #114 by the former brown haired guy.
I must have confused you with the Auctioneer type crap I was trying to spell.
So, here we go again. I got 55 from the former brown haired guy, and that damn magazine.
I need 60, do I hear 60, who'll gimme 60?
and of course that darn mag.............what we gonna do with that darn mag?
I could take it and run another auction on it in conjuction with this one. Take the worth of that and add it to Andy's (former brown haired guy) bid here and that would be the value of the two 3rd hands.......................or not.
Andy, why?
Please, some help here folks, cuz I can't take the mag and put it in Quittintimes historical memorabilia section because we don't have one. I can't keep it for myself, as that's some kind of collusion. So the only thing I think left is to put it up on the block for another auction. Then of course, Andy (former brown haired guy) would either be "the man" or be embarrassed because it only brought face value...........if in fact it was bid on at all.
What say ye?

Former brown haired guy indeed. At least I've still got my hair, and I can dye it anytime I want.

'At least I've still got my hair..' Go ahead, rub it in... Some of us just grew taller than our hair!
So what are we gonna do? Have a seperate auction for the mag and the hand? You want to ask our newest member to just donate the autographed mag? Inquiring minds want to know.....

Jeeze Cal, this some kind of code to confuse the cabin fever crowd? 60 bucks it is and you can keep the mag, re- auction it later.
Hint: The mag would fetch more if it were autographed by Miss April?
