Ok, first I want to say here, that BT is one great forum. It really is. I am glad to visit there often.
I want to explain a couple things here. BT is a commercial enterprise. We are not. BT has to be concerned with potential public perceptions. We don't. BT is perfectly within their rights to delete any post they see fit. And I for one, while I don't agree, think their position is obviously right for them.
I may not agree, but I definately understand. I wish people would quit giving them a hard time about this. Spend their energy helping WHW instead.
Now, in addition... This forum has never been intended to be a competitor with BT. It is, and always has been intended to be a complement. This is just one way in which we can truly be a complement, and not a competitor.
Knowing the hearts of the people that I do know at Taunton, I think they will all be glad to see this being done for WHW.
Since I think the new WHW thread there is soon to disappear as well, I am making this thread here. Following this, you will find a copy of Wet Head's original post. It has all the pertinant info, and I don't think it is necessary to copy the whole current thread.
Cal will also be along shortly to offfer more assistance...

The Woodshed Tavern - Would you loan me $20 to finish moving? Subscribe From: Wet Head Warrior Nov-16 8:29 pm To: ALL (1 of 19) 36811.1 Ya know, I really feel like a heel doing this. But I figured it was worth putting down my ego and asking for a bit of help.
Now, I ain't gonna ask for any handouts. Just a hand up.
Here is the scoop...
I am moving my family from CO to NC. Currently we are in OK at my bro-in-law's place. As mentioned before, I had several breakdowns along the way so far. And these reakdown's along with a lot higher fuel costs than expected have burned through my cash.
I would ask my bro-in-law for help but he is down to his last 20 bucks himself. He starts his new job on Monday.
I really need to get to NC. I have a place to stay once I get there.
I figure I gotta come up with around $400 to finish the trip. I am not asking for $400 from you. But any amount would help towards that.
Here is my proposal. If you can find it in your heart to loan me a few bucks towards that amount, I would appreciate it. I have a 1992 S-10 Blazer out in CO that a friend is trying to sell for me. I can pay you back as soon as I sell the Blazer. And I commit the money from the Blazer to repay this before I do anything else with it.
I will pay you 20% annualized interest. (If I have your money for 2 months I would pay as interest 20% of the total divided by 12 times 2. Clear as mud?)
I will touch base with you via e-mail every week until it is repaid.
I have a debit card with my Pay Pal account so can pull off the cash that way.
If you want to loan me a few bucks but don't do Pay Pal shoot me an e-mail.
Here is my PayPal link.
Pay Pal
Thanks. This is extremely embarassing... but you sometimes suck it up and do what you gotta do.

For various reasons, I am unable to access the Taunton Tavern. Would you kindly summarize the response to WHW's posting. For instance, was the general tone hostile or helpful?

i saw it on monday morning. because i'm in the UK i saw it before the prospero people woke up and went to work.
there were several replies and all were offering help of various sorts.
i think that breaktime has a real feel to it and i believe that most people on the forum would try to help another poster any way they could.
generally this is with advice on construction, but it obviously goes much further.

Well, the WHW thread over at BreakTime has devolved into a bunch of stuff about horses. Is there any news on how Richard is making out? Has the discussion moved elsewhere?

Well Al, I haven't gone to BT yet tonite so I may find something there. WH was going to try to get in touch, but as of yet, I have heard nothing. Any donation I get in the P.O. Box will be going to his paypal account. I hope he knows he's got some help here. Those of you that donate through QT, please include your email address and screen name so I can pass it on to WH.

Al, I don't know if it is devolution as much as it is an attempt to keep the thread alive and his title out front for him to see when he is able to log in again, to know that he is thought of.

John, I don't believe there was a bit of hostility in it, and none in Andy's tone when he explained that he had needed to delete it.

From BT tonight:
From: Doug@es 9:03 pm To: ALL (87 of 87
If anybody noticed WHW posted a notice in the classifed section regarding some Chestnut wood that his BIL had for sell.
I called on it because I want some and he called me back tonight.
WHW's BIL said that he thought that the family may have made it to NC or they would be there shortly. He wasnt sure exactly(he's in Virginia I think).
BIL also said that WH got hit by a semi in Tenn. or some place like that, said that he heard that the semi swerved to miss something and it hit WH's truck. Said that the truck was still driveable.
He didnt have any more info than that, but it does sound like maybe he is or has gotten there.

Luka HAven't been in here in ages but figured it was time to recheck the site out and saw the WHW post. I shot him a bit of cash via Paypal just now hoping every bit helps. Let me/us know if you hear anything. I think all the BS in the WHW site at BT is to just keep it open... Be well bro and good work andy

Good News!
I finally got word from Wet Head Warrior. He and his family are safe in N.C.
Just got to NC on Thanksgiving Day. Had a wreck in Memphis! But we are all OK.
I'll tell the whole story to all.

Well, here it is, February, 2004 and I'm wondering what happened to Wet Head Warrior. The last I heard, he made it to his new home around Thanksgiving. I loaned him some money via Paypal, and someone charged my account, but I never recieved any aknowledgement of any kind from WHW. I'm starting to wonder if the money ever got into the proper hands. Does anyone know where he is? Does he have an e-mail address?

I didn't see the money as a loan. Didn't expect anything back. Not even acknowledgement.
But I WOULD like to know how he is doing.
: )
He has to deal with manic-depressive illness too. Just like me. But unlike me, he has the added pressure of a family.
I hope he is doing well.

Loan or gift, my first concern (after the well-being of Richard) is that the money got to it's intended destination.

So is there no news at all? Last I heard(if I remember correctly) he had made it partway to Florida just before Xmas and was going to give a report after the holidays. Haven't been over to BT in a while, but there was nothing new there about Wet Head a few days ago. Wondering, Heck
