John, Just goes to show, one should never log on before the coffee is ready. I see right next to your name, in print is Australia. OK, now that's pretty clear, so what part of the Down Under you from. Always wanted to see the place, infact unless the aborigines did him in I have a relative living there someplace. My parents and I came to the states from Germany in 52 at the same time my dads younger brother-in-law went to Austrailia. We know he got there since he sent us a letter, said he was off to the interior, never heard from him again. My dad thinks he got done in, my mother thinks he's hiding from the family, me I think he's the Man from Snowy River and living happily ever after with the ranchers daughter.

Armin, It would be pretty wild back in '52 I would guess,I think a croc probably got him, lately they seem to like American tourists. Roo meat is a bit of a delicacy here all though I must admit I have'nt had any, something about eating our national icon does'nt sit right, maybe Mark has had some. We are in a wine region here in fact the whole state is dotted with wineries, like a good red myself. We are from the West Coast but its in Victoria. Torquay is our town at the start of the Great Ocean Road, a surf and tourism area about 6000 people. We took our little camper on its first trip to the Apollo Bay music festival on the weekend along the Great Ocean Road, went like a dream. http://www.greatoceanrd.org.au/surfcoast/surfsup.htm# Link to the G.O.R Cheers John

I heard a rumor, that, if true, means a great many Americans have had roo meat as well.
Close to twenty years ago, I heard that Mickey D's had used a lot of roo meat for their hamburgers.
Reason, it was cheap, and was supposedly called "beef" where it came from.

What can I say, winter still has it's teeth firmly imbedded in Michigans Butt, after a few nice days we get dumped on, some places got a foot of snow while we got 10 degrees and sun. Skis are still in style, shorts still in the closet.

Luka, maybe they called it "beef' where it was going. Roo meat is suppoosed to be very lean, all that hoppin' I guess, they would'nt call It beef here. Cheers John

Somehow going to a fast food burger joint, peeling back the bun and shouting "Where's the Roo" just doesn't sound right.

Pro Dek, looks like you are getting pretty good using Photo Shop, how much time did it take to paste on the flowers? My sister-in-law lives in Bremerton so I get to listen to all the nice weather stories. Sounds like an awesome place, maybe one day I'll go check it out for myself.
Just finished plowing about a foot of new snow, cleared up nice, temp expected to drop to zero tonight, might try a moonlite ski if I can stay awake past midnight. All kidding aside I'm anxious to see how my little flower garden will do, this will be my second year, adds a nice splash of color along side the house.

I haven't heard the fat lady sing but I think it's over. Two sunny days and we only have 18 inches of snow left with a few bare spots around the trees. On the down side, with two big dogs and a horse this place is starting to look like a turd world country.
Yesterday the wife and I took a trip to the far western end of the peninsula to check out a railing project in a monastery. On the way out I spotted this full scale snow gauge. The Keweenaw Peninsula is the backbone of a high rocky ridge stretching northward into Lake Superior for over 40 miles. This ridge acts as a barrier to the northwest storms that come out of Canada, the Keweenaw takes the brunt of the snow before deflecting the wild weather back out into the lake where it picks up even more moisture as it travels in a wide arc and finally slams into the shore east of Munising. Which is, to be more specific, the back of my house. Needless to say the realtor who sold me the property neglected to explain this natural phenomenon.

Pro Dek, Gives new meaning to the term "vent stack".
Pizza, well lets just say when they take the order the first question asked is not "what toppings do you want" but rather "is the driveway plowed"?
