Received the following from Armin. Another interesting item up for auction. I'm holding off on an end date for bids so you all get a chance to take a look. Tell your friends.
Like most woodwackers I have a private stash of wood that I save for a project worthy of the cause. Well I think the guys at Quittin Time are a worthy cause, so I'm offering these two killer Curly Maple boards to the auction. Here's a chance for someone to make a nice end table and maybe even a jewelry box for the sweet misses. Boards scale out at 10 bd. ft. are kiln dried, 7 inches wide x 96 long surfaced to 7/8 and finished with 120 grit on the wide belt sander. One board has a small amount of bark along one end, otherwise the figure is as good as it gets. We will ship prepaid UPS to anywhere in the 48 states, retail value $110.00. Throughout the year we have received some fine support from our members. What better way to re-up your contribution for the coming year and have delivered to you as a hearty thank you, this curly maple.
So here we go, bid opens at 40.00 u.s.
End of Bidding..............Noon eastern, Sunday April 13th.

Bob, These questions should probably be addressed to Armin as he's the do-nay-tor. Your location would be just about the extreme on shipping to continental US. On the machine?..........I think I'm not overstepping my bounds in saying - nope.

Pro Dek, the bid includes shipping right to your door, and no the planer is not included. Also if anybody needs it sized to a different thickness we will be happy to fix'em up.

John,
I already thought of that, shipping is anywhere in the 48 states. I will certainly ship anywhere on the planet, the bidder pays the difference. If you are interested let me know and I'll let you know what the cost is. Also for any foreign country shipment I'll throw in a nice birdseye board to sweeten the deal.

Only kidding Armin, the Aussie dollar would mean it costs nearly double. Good luck with the auction Cheers John

Armin, It's late Sunday night, if the auction hasn't closed, I'll go $75 for the maple.

Alpha, after talking with Armin I'm going to let you take the maple. You're a good customer of his and new here so I thought we'd let the prize go to the best candidate for using this fine wood in a timely manner that'll do it justice. There's one condition to this venture, I'd like you to post some pics of things you've done with wood from Armin. What do you say?

Calvin, I'd be happy to post some of the pix. I should have some done in the weeks to come and I'll make sure everyone gets a chance to see the finished work. Thanks again. Torin/Alpha 1 Music.
