Speaking of "Some of those are pretty funny", can we put one of your drawings on the auction block? I don't care which one, but I'll start the bidding at $50.
Luka, feel free to move this to the proper thread :-)

Kai,
I am speechless..... OK, now I'm over it.
I would certainly consider donating an original cartoon for auction, one that had already been posted, if my ego can take it if you are the only bidder (gulp)........I haven't had a chance to run it by the wizard Luka and the others that make this board run.
I guess if they are willing to give it a go, so am I. What do you think, folks?

Sounds good to me.
Great Idea, Kai.
Heck,
How about we do this. You gather a collection of the pictures that you would consider selling at auction.
The bidding goes on until there is a winner. We'll have to set a deadline. When a winner is found, they get to pick one of the drawings that you have offered.
When you have decided on the group of pictures, let us know, and we will set a deadline.

LOL doncha just love how "it decided".
Anyway, it looks like the title got changed, but it still defaults to the old one in the Subject box.
Over at the shed James linked to one of the rooftop pics--too funny! It's very big, requiring scrolling. Luka, are there some guidelines re saving images so they don't require scrolling? TIA

None that I am aware of, Kai.
What is basicaly comes down to is that you save it to your computer. As is. Then, you use some sort of graphics program to change the size of the pic so that you can see the whole thing without scrolling.
I use Paint Shop Pro. But I hear that Irfanview is a good one, and it's free. It's also easier to work with.

Heck, we need to hear from you.
If you say that you have a picture, or a collection of pictures ready, we will start the bidding.
We need to know, 1.) do you have the goods ? 2.) what are they ? 3.) will the buyer pay shipping, or will you ?
Once we get the answers to these questions, we will run the auction for two weeks to a month.

OK. You all forced me to go looking for the originals.
When inspiration strikes,I grab the nearest paper to sketch on. It might be a piece of multipurpose paper from my printer tray,or yellow legal pad paper with lines,or 3"x5" memo, or even the back of an envelope. Sometimes I draw one cartoon on the same paper as a previous one. Then, after drawing and scanning to my 'puter, the originals are deposited willy-nilly somewhere in my office.
So... I have just now located some of the pictures I have posted here and at BT. I am unable to locate them all, some may have been discarded. Unfortunately, many of the sketches from Beckmans' Gutter Secret thread have come up missing.
What's available? Here's a personal favorite, on white copy paper:
Do you all remember the 'hen posse' thread? Hilarious.

Luka, if these attachments are too big, can you fix? TIA
By the way, the successful bidder will receive a signed and dated original, framed and shipped at my expense.

Did you let Beckman and Piffin know these are up for bid? With all their money, we should be sure to let them know.

So, people, do I have to trump my own bid?

We just got back to this kai, a little delay. So, is it the Hen Posse you be interested in? And since Heck set the precedent, you can up your own bid. Now that's bidding.

Rich, what? you think that since you were a model (high priced super model at that) on that roof top series that we would ignore you the opportunity to place your bid . Come now, we think more highly of you than that.

The best thing about that picture was the responses it brought from the others involved in that thread. There were some other drawings offered from other posters that were just priceless! Wish now that I had saved them. jw

Let me add to the value of one drawing with a story. I was showing daughter how to use Irfanview to fing pictures and see saw that one file was named, "Tit's up" from the Beckman rooftop bordello and ranching thread.
"Hey, MOM! Dad's got a ..."
Then I had to get her mind out of the gutter, so to speak.
BTW, All my money is going to medical bills this year. I don't even think I have to pay any taxes because of medical bills for the wife. Sorry guys.
Where's that drill auction anyway? Did I win?

Well, heck, James, I don't recall specific pics from other posters, and I know I read every post in Beckman's rooftop/bordello/gutter saga, but you seem to do so much w/such simple lines--your animals have expressions and attitudes/postures nearly as complex/spot-on as some photos of people!
Do I recall correctly that the rigormortis bunny was accidental? LOL!
{{Piffin}}! Hope your wife is on the mend--med care cost is so out of whack. I'm afraid to call to find out what my COBRA will cost, but must do so by next week, eewww. When will folks start lobbying senators for equal coverage (free for life, IIRC)?
Calvin, thanks for bringing this back to life. I'm not sure how to handle this if someone wants to bid on a diff drawing, but I'm gnawing my teeth into the hen's posse one.
(P.S. James, your offer to frame and ship is quite generous! Also, I'd be happy to accept a signed copy; your originals s/be in a freakin vault man!)
(P.S.S. Another thing I'd probably like [to bid on] is something very ragged--like you said on the back of an envelope, or something like that. Just a thought.)

The auction is officialy started.
Here's the real poop.
One auction. One winner, one runner up.
You bid against each other, as in any other auction. Whoever wins the bid, gets their pick of the pics. The runner-up gets their pick of what pics are left. One pic pick each.
This auction will run until wednesday, Feb 5th.
Kai has already bid 50 dollars, and then upped the ante to 60. I know youse guys do not intend to leave the bidding so low, that the Louvre will sweep in and take the prize from you at that most crucial last moment.

I wish I could find the original to this one, drawn as a response to a post by Luka in the BT Tav thread 'Beckman for a Really Important Position', started by Hubcap.
Luka made a post about Rich saving his cat's life by administering a potion (NOT orally!) after the cat had eaten a mouse.
This vision popped into my head,I grabbed some paper, and it probably took about two minutes to sketch.
Nice thing about Beckman, always willing to help. :-)

James, what the heck were you thinking? LOL! Motherlode!
And I guess "lurker" didn't show? Hmmm.
You guys, I just have to tell you, to get to my prize I had to rummage through -a green Heck hat (thanks, a needed missing color), -two Heck T-shirts (beige works, the orange HECK could stop traffic! never too many Ts), -and some great green carp pencils! I didn't know they came unsharpened and that long LOL!
Finally, I pull out my beloved hen posse in this elaborate frame, and notice a bit of tissue between a layer, tug on it, and son of a gun if there isn't a second framed pic of the rigormortis rabbit and crew "nestled" beneath the tissue OMG! And these are beautiful handmade wood frames suitable for hanging or standing! I was quite surprised, and pleasantly, that these are drawn w/a fine pencil, so the attachments that show up w/lines perhaps the size of a marker are wonderful for closeup detail, but the entire work is like an exquisite miniature! I'm stoked! The rabbit piece is larger, and I'm scouting about for the best place, or to augment w/lighting.
Thanks James! You really outdid yourself. Now, where is your latest sketch posted?
I would have thanked you privately but I'd rather embarrass you publicly :-) Plus, I can't find your addy!
