Speaking of "Some of those are pretty funny", can we put one of your drawings on the auction block? I don't care which one, but I'll start the bidding at $50.

Luka, feel free to move this to the proper thread :-)

Kai,

I am speechless.....
OK, now I'm over it.

I would certainly consider donating an original cartoon for auction, one that had already been posted, if my ego can take it if you are the only bidder (gulp)........I haven't had a chance to run it by the wizard Luka and the others that make this board run.

I guess if they are willing to give it a go, so am I. What do you think, folks?

(kai, you wicked, wicked lady! You know I like hiding under my rock! )

James

Sounds good to me.

Great Idea, Kai.

Heck,

How about we do this. You gather a collection of the pictures that you would consider selling at auction.

The bidding goes on until there is a winner. We'll have to set a deadline. When a winner is found, they get to pick one of the drawings that you have offered.

When you have decided on the group of pictures, let us know, and we will set a deadline.

And how did this get titled Construction Techniques?

James, hide all you like. Just lift the rock long enough to let your art escape, 'k?

LOL doncha just love how "it decided".

Anyway, it looks like the title got changed, but it still defaults to the old one in the Subject box.

Over at the shed James linked to one of the rooftop pics--too funny! It's very big, requiring scrolling. Luka, are there some guidelines re saving images so they don't require scrolling? TIA

None that I am aware of, Kai.

What is basicaly comes down to is that you save it to your computer. As is. Then, you use some sort of graphics program to change the size of the pic so that you can see the whole thing without scrolling.

I use Paint Shop Pro. But I hear that Irfanview is a good one, and it's free. It's also easier to work with.

OK, just a note from the treas. Is this gonna happen James, my deposit writing fingers are getting itchy. What's the status of the art auction, and are we going to have it authenticated? Thanks.

Heck, we need to hear from you.

If you say that you have a picture, or a collection of pictures ready, we will start the bidding.

We need to know, 1.) do you have the goods ? 2.) what are they ? 3.) will the buyer pay shipping, or will you ?

Once we get the answers to these questions, we will run the auction for two weeks to a month.

OK.
You all forced me to go looking for the originals.

When inspiration strikes,I grab the nearest paper to sketch on. It might be a piece of multipurpose paper from my printer tray,or yellow legal pad paper with lines,or 3"x5" memo, or even the back of an envelope. Sometimes I draw one cartoon on the same paper as a previous one.
Then, after drawing and scanning to my 'puter, the originals are deposited willy-nilly somewhere in my office.

So... I have just now located some of the pictures I have posted here and at BT. I am unable to locate them all, some may have been discarded. Unfortunately, many of the sketches from Beckmans' Gutter Secret thread have come up missing.

What's available? Here's a personal favorite, on white copy paper:

Do you all remember the 'hen posse' thread? Hilarious.

Luka, if these attachments are too big, can you fix? TIA

By the way, the successful bidder will receive a signed and dated original, framed and shipped at my expense.

This one is the view of Beckman's Rooftop Ranch, drawn on yellow legal pad:

James, you slay me. When you get famous, these are gold.

Did you let Beckman and Piffin know these are up for bid? With all their money, we should be sure to let them know.

Of the ones you posted here, this is my fave, too, but the others all make me smile or laugh. Hen posse was wonderful. Ah, the good ol days.

So, people, do I have to trump my own bid?
