Are they one and the same ?
If not, how are they different ?
What spices are in pizza sauce ?

Luka,
The main difference between spag sauce and pizza sauce in my house is the spelling. Both come from the same jar!
My Italian grand parents are rolling over in thier graves!
If I had more time I would learn how to cook Italian. But I would end up weighing 300 lbs.
I do make my own dough in the bread machine. MY little buddy says I make the best pizza and thats all I need to hear!!!

"Spaghetti sauce" is a pretty broad term that covers a lot of ground. It can stand for a simple chunky Marinara (mah-dee-nah-dah not MARE-in-AIRA) or a blended smooth sauce with tomato flavor being the star of the show. My mother always denoted pizza sauce as one heavy in oregano. To this day, I don't put oregano in my marinara because it makes everything taste like pizza. In addition, pizza sauce is one of the notorious offenders of adding (gasp) sugar. Pizza sauce is generally sweeter than marinara or ragu. Next time you make marinara, season it with everything except oregano and taste it. THEN add the oregano and see if you don't feel like you're at a pizzeria wolfing down a slice .

Thank you Chiff !!!
Exactly what I needed to know. I have "italian seasoning", but didn't think that exactly made pizza sauce.
Hows the move going ?

Some pre-made Italian Seasoning mixes are glorified salt. There are a few blends that are salt-free and they're great combinations of basil, oregano, parsley, etc. Penzey's and Pendery's have such blends.

We put in an offer on a house in FL and the financing is 99% complete. (Most of this is being done via FedEx, so it takes a little longer.)
The house has 3 spacious BR, 2 bath, 2 car garage, a pool with lanai (cage screening over pool), and a privacy fence (thank GOD we don't have to put one up). The house is in pristine condition inside and out. Unfortunately it does not have a fireplace but DH has promised we will get one of those stand-alone stoves or stand alone fireplaces because I caved and let him have his pool. Sometimes married people do stuff simply to make the other partner happy and the rest of the house posed no further compromises. I'm sure he'll get me my indoor fire source as soon as time permits.
The kitchen/dining room have potential to be one huge mother of a kitchen (woo hoo, 10 top stove might find a permanent home!). Until we can save enough to get an architect and design one, the kitchen in the house is livable. I have only three words that might strike terror in the hearts of kitchen dwellers - a perfectly good incentive to save that renovation money: PINK TILE BACKSPLASH. Nuff said.
I'm terribly superstitious so I won't post a mass announcement until the deal's done 100%. Thanks for asking.
