Our house is sold. We are now renters . The new owners passed by tonight (they're scheduled to move in on the weekend). We enjoyed speaking with them for several hours out in front of the house, experiencing one of our last western sunsets.
The wife is an experienced pet sitter and will be watching our pets while we're off house hunting. We have a lab who needs phenobarb 2x a day. We'll pay our new landlord to pet sit but not having to board our pets for 2 weeks will save us a chunk of change. Plus they'll be in familiar surroundings.
These people are simply nice. They so enjoyed picking our brains about the house, tips on interviewing renters, learning about what their new neighbors would be like.
I feel like this ball is FINALLY rolling and we're moving on with our lives. While I'm happy that this particular step has been completed, the unknown looms. I have to admit I'm more than a little gun shy about jumping out there into uncharted territory.
When we move and actually have a KITCHEN again, I'll post about food - and I'll visit the construction folks to pick brains about getting that kitchen in shape. We've been watching Ultimate Kitchens on TVFN for ideas.
We're surrounded by boxes and will soon be pointed south. I'm trying to wrap my mind around this "new beginning." It's so much easier when you're 20.

ahhhhh, chiffy! congrats!
Watch out on the Ultimate Kitchens stuff - I have purchased several kitchen "idea" books, and I do believe they have contributed to the dollar amount I anticipate my new kitchen will cost! ;-)
