Zebrano and maple built in thingy, a bit under 14 ft long I think. I know its 4,150 mm long, whatever that is in feet. had to take the shot through a doorway because the blasted thing was so big in a narrow room.
Here's a bit of a joinery headscratcher for your delectation.
And a slightly unusual staining and grain filling job on white oak. Slainte, RJ.

You know Lee, you got some talent. You should think maybe of pursuing a career in woodworking.

That angled dovetail piece is an impressive bit of woodworking.
Tight work, Sgian. I do appreciate it.

Thank you Lee. I respect and admire your work too. (Gawd, let's not start a mutual admiration society.) Your type of work is not what I want to build, obviously, otherwise I'd build it. But I think it's interesting that two people using essentially the same tools and skills turn out such stylistically diverse products. Slainte, RJ.

alright, you both got a future in woodworking if you stick with it. I know I have no future in using this computer.

A recently delivered pair of bedside cabinets in walnut and zebrano with maple drawer parts. All solid timber, traditional joinery, and hide glue. Lacquered inside, with walnut stained and polished with sprayed alkyd varnish, and zebrano natural, also varnished.
And with one drawer open. Sliding dovetailed at the front, and handcut through dovetails at the back. Mounted on H?fele full extension undermount slides. All in all About 190 hrs work, which I wasn't ashamed to charge for, ha, ha. Slainte, RJ.

Online article describing construction of the above piece, which is essentially the same construction as the more recent bedside cabinets. The leg is a variation on the cabriole form. The piece illustrated here was not the first time I'd used the leg, but, it was the first time I'd used it in a cabinet. The walnut cabinet with three zebrano drawers was commissioned because the buyer had seen the cabinet illustrated above in a gallery. Therefore I guess I can say that galleries do sometimes work for the furniture maker, i.e., they can generate orders from previously made and displayed pieces. Slainte.
PS. The original use of this leg style was this piece, but in truth as a designer I'd like to move on from this motif.
