I tried posting this last night and could swear it went in but I must have been mistaken...
Our house is sold AGAIN. Our r.e. agent got on a mission to sell it because she knows we want to leave. She's the only local I have ever met who was willing to say out loud what everyone else knows to be true: "Our little town is dying." Most locals are so far into denial it's sad.
The house was on the market 3 days. The girl who is purchasing it has her financing in place and is taking the house "as is." When bad things start happening to the scumbag who was supposed to buy it and jerked us around, I hope he's reminded of the bad karma he created for himself. Yesterday, I had DH call him to let him know the house was sold to someone else, and not to ever contact us again for any reason. Better coming from him than me. It could have gotten ugly!
Now it's a matter of getting to FL and buying a house. Mom lives in the southern end of the state so she'll get more visits. We'll be near a major airport so it won't cost a king's ransom to fly anywhere that matters. It's looking up and fingers are crossed...for a June 12 close.

We're concentrating on Tampa/St. Pete. I have a friend who lives in Tampa and she loves it. She says it's booming and your real estate dollar still buys a lot. The job market looks good. I'd like DH to go into corporate dining and there are a lot of convention centers there. The demographic is changing to young executives. Of course, long-term plans include a food biz - with Tampa/St. Pete being small enough to afford a food biz, but large enough to sustain it.
