Back when I had more time than money I made (cobbled) up a lot of tools.
The pic shows a 2 spindle dowel boreing machine, I bought the drill head from "Tool Works" and designed the rest to fit my needs. It worked pretty good but once I advanced to mortise & tennon joints I had no use for it so I sold it.

Armin,
I am severely impressed. I have made a few tools in my time as well. Biggest one ever was a bandsaw.
But all mine come out looking pretty much utilitarian. It is a tool, made to do a job. And I don't ever think about the aesthetics of the thing while building it. I admire the way that you can make a tool that functions, but looks good as well.
(I have a design theory in mind that will make a small bandsaw that will do the job of a big one. ie, it will have a big throat without having to be a behemoth overall.)
