I think "L's" are Luka's specialty. That's probably how he got the name "Luka". Now if it was "B's" that he was so good at we'd all be calling him "Buka", which just doesn't have as nice a ring to it. "Duka" would be cool though; sounds like a James Dean kind of guy, don't you think? Anyone lost a "D" around here?

My kichen project is to take out the wall between the kichen and the family room. The family room is more like a sunroom that used to be a covered patio outside the kitchen window. The kitchen is 8x10, and no matter what I do everyone congregates there while I'm cooking. It would be a nice kitchen if I could cook in it all by myself, but there are always 2 or 3 boys and a dog or 2 in there with me. My work triangle is more like the Bermuda triangle. Makes me cranky.

No leaves on the trees yet?! Now THAT would make me cranky.

Sorry about your contractor. Drat. This guy is the 5th or 6th I've met with - I feel your pain. I got so frustrated that I started demo myself; now the family room looks kinda funny but at least it feels like something is happening. I wouldn't recommend that with your house, though, as I think I remember you have major foundation or structure issues, right? A good contractor is worth more than they earn.

Hi! Lisa!
...Anyone want a used "U"?

The leaves are starting to open, mowed some lawn last nite, paths really, and the black flies are out in full force! Who could ask for anything more? Music? Rhythm? My Girl?
I think that statement about contractors will put you in "The Contractors Hall of Fame"!!!
Your kitchen project sounds like fun. If you need any "cyber" help, email me, or even someone smart!
And don't be cranky...It causes wrinkles!!!
Have a good one!

I still have a ton more research to do and get estimates, plus get a car (and research that), find someone to refurbish my garage doors, etc. Bro will help me w/temp fixes for stairs, etc. I used to be a huge DIYer, witness all my unfinished projects! You'll love your new kitchen, I'm sure :-)

Carolepie.14152876,

I feel your pain! 2 weekends ago I foolishly agreed to accompany my 9 yearold cubscout troop on a weekend camping trip.
Talk about sleep deprivation.
Try to get 8 nine excited nine year olds to shut-up at bed time!
I'm sure the bunk beds wre designed by the Marquis de Sade!!
every time some on in the top bunk twitched it sounded like a freight train crossing a rickety steel bridge!

Get some sleep girl!!

next time they ask me to go, I am telling them that it is that weekend I usually stay home and drive bamboo splint under my fingernails!

I know what you mean......This was only for 6 hours, plus, it rained.......They didn't care, but the adults hated it!

Bus was an hour late picking us up and it was still raining......

Oh well, they had a good time........Kids are so resilient....It's us old folks who get worn out........

No, Wolvie. I'm not generally alive and awake at that time of day. It's hard to be when I commonly go to bed at 3- 5 am Houston time. Days start between 8- 9:30 am. Slainte, RJ.
