Folks, I just received a pledge of a donation to Rez's family. So in keeping up the tradition here of being a funnel for donations to good a good cause I'm opening up this thread.
Many (most) of you know of the passing of our buddy Rez. It has been mentioned over at BT that there was a memorial of sorts with donations to his family. I wish I could find the thread and post so we could get some more background. Hopefully someone will direct us there.
So here you have it. A place to send in whatever amount you can spare. Use the paypal button on the bottom of the page or send a check/money order to:
Quittintime p.o.box 351 maumee, ohio 43537-0351
Make a notation either way that this is in Memory of our good friend Rez.
If perhaps you have an auction item-I'd be glad to offer that up too with the proceeds going to the fund.
Thanks again for your time and consideration!

Man I am shocked! I am coming off a two week suspension at Breaktime and came over here to try and get a tip as to how to get back on BT.
Rez was the best, I will miss his presence immensely.

We're all going to miss that guy. He was always on the lookout for the good things. I'm very glad to have both met him and corresponded off the board. However, makes those few minutes seem small compared to what could have been.
Never miss an opportunity to get to know someone.

Thanks Bob, hope we hear from his brother about a memorial donation soon. I think there might be some interest.

Calvin,
It's Sunday night now and by the time I actually post this, It'll be after 10:00 pm eastern.
No word yet from Rez's Brother.
From the conversation I had with the lady at the funeral home, it was a small town and she gave me the impression that she knew the family. I mean, when I had explained things to her and later suggested that maybe she could contact someone in the family and ask them to contact me. She instantly said that she could get a message to Rez's brother, and would give him my contact info.
I can only speculate on what is going on, and I'm sure you knew him way longer than the short time I did, so maybe you know more than me.
There is a plan "B" if we decide to try it. The lady I talked to said that we could send it to the funeral home with a note explaining things, and they, (The funeral home), would see that it got to the right place.
This is what I know, and where I'm at.
Anyway dude, I think something should or could be done to let his family and others know that we miss him too.
Maybe it would be quicker if we worked it out on the phone, you talk to Rick some don't you?
If you want, get my number from him and we'll go from there.
Or what ever you think, I'm just the support crew. But I'm all heart on this.

I'll pass along my number in an email to you through here. Give me a call later this aftn if you get a chance-should be done just b/4 dark.
I'm unsure what tack we should take on this. Donation to the family is one way to go. Maybe to a community project in his name or something like that. Perhaps a tree planted.
Something to show our respect for a guy we sort of knew.
Thanks for your efforts.

Plumberbob has been pounding the pavement trying to make contact and/or find out if there is a memorial or some kind of donation destination in Rez's name. So far, no.
So, now we take an alternate route in this hunt to get something tangible to memorialize our buddy. It's going to take a few days to make contact with some people-at least that long-due to the holiday weekend.
I'll keep you informed of where this leads me. If you want to hold on to a donation till you know what the heck is up-please do.
Thanks and please offer up a short message to Rez as you enjoy your Thanksgiving.

John, I've pretty much given up with an idea I had involving Taunton. All my requests for a dialogue, repeated several times, fell on deaf ears. As far as they're concerned you best be impressed and satisfied with a brief obit they plan to run in the next issue.
I've suggested to Paul in Conn. perhaps a collection in Rez's name earmarked for his homeless pal. I'll talk with him some more and see if that's something we can try. It would be an apt action as Rez was all about helping others.
I don't know, the important thing is he remains in our memories I guess. And for that we only need to remember. Damn shame his days of helping others is gone....... Perhaps that suggests the answer. Remember Rez, give others some help when they need it. The help doesn't have to be "things". Just pointing them in the right direction would fill the bill.
