Outfit - Jason Isbell
You want to grow up to paint houses like me, a trailer in my yard till you're 23 You want to be old after 42 years, keep dropping the hammer and grinding the gears
Well, I used to go out in a Mustang, a 302 Mach One in green. Me and your Mama made you in the back and I sold it to buy her a ring. And I learned not to say much of nothing and I figured you already know but in case you don’t or maybe forgot, I’ll lay it out real nice and slow
Don’t call what your wearing an outfit. Don’t ever say your car is broke. Don’t worry about losing your accent, a Southern Man tells better jokes. Have fun but stay clear of the needle. Call home on your sister’s birthday. Don’t tell them you’re bigger than Jesus, don’t give it away.
Six months in a St. Florian foundry, they call it Industrial Park. Then hospital maintenance and Tech School just to memorize Frigidaire parts. But I got to missing your Mama and I got to missing you too. So I went back to painting for my old man and I guess that’s what I’ll always do
So don’t try to change who you are boy, and don’t try to be who you ain’t. And don’t let me catch you in Kendale with a bucket of wealthy-man’s paint.
Don’t call what your wearing an outfit. Don’t ever say your car is broke. Don’t sing with a fake British accent. Don’t act like your family’s a joke. Have fun, but stay clear of the needle, call home on your sister’s birthday. Don’t tell them you’re bigger than Jesus, Don’t give it away.
Don’t give it away

Colorful - Rocco Delucca
You swim like you're on fire Live like your last day Drink like it's water There's no tomorrow And you think no one can hear you Raise your hands to be called on You know all the answers
You're the most colorful thing that I've seen You're the most colorful thing that I've seen You're the most colorful thing that I've seen
You dance like no one's watching Sing 'till the song ends Then you sing some more And we can hardly believe it Words that flow from your mouth Drink like it's water
You're the most colorful thing that I've seen You're the most beautiful thing that I've seen You're the most colorful thing that I've seen
You are an enigma walking
Make no excuses for the way that you carry on And we can hardly believe it The words that flow from your mouth Drink like it's water, girl
You're the most colorful thing that I've seen You're the most beautiful thing that I've seen
You are so colorful You are so colorful
You are the most beautiful thing that I've ever seen

What Keeps Mankind Alive : (Weill/Brecht)
You gentlemen who think you have a mission To purge us of the seven deadly sins Should first sort out the basic food position Then start your preaching, that's where it begins
You lot who preach restraint and watch your waist as well Should learn, for once, the way the world is run However much you twist or whatever lies that you tell Food is the first thing, morals follow on
So first make sure that those who are now starving Get proper helpings when we all start carving What keeps mankind alive?
What keeps mankind alive? The fact that millions are daily tortured Stifled, punished, silenced and oppressed Mankind can keep alive thanks to its brilliance In keeping its humanity repressed And for once you must try not to shriek the facts Mankind is kept alive by bestial acts

Into the Mystic - Van Morrison
We were born before the wind Also younger than the sun Ere the bonnie boat was won as we sailed into the mystic Hark, now hear the sailors cry Smell the sea and feel the sky Let your soul and spirit fly into the mystic
And when that fog horn blows I will be coming home And when that fog horn blows I want to hear it I dont have to fear it I want to rock your gypsy soul Just like way back in the days of old Then magnificently we will float into the mystic And when that fog horn blows you know I will be coming home And when thst fog horn whistle blows I got to hear it I dont have to fear it I want to rock your gypsy soul Just like way back in the days of old And together we will float into the mystic Come on girl...

Jonathan Richman - Roadrunner
One two three for five six!
Roadrunner, roadrunner Going faster miles an hour Gonna drive past the Stop 'n' Shop With the radio on I'm in love with Massachusetts And the neon when it's cold outside And the highway when it's late at night Got the radio on I'm like the roadrunner
Alright I'm in love with modern moonlight 128 when it's dark outside I'm in love with Massachusetts I'm in love with the radio on It helps me from being alone late at night It helps me from being lonely late at night I don't feel so bad now in the car Don't feel so alone, got the radio on Like the roadrunner That's right
Said welcome to the spirit of 1956 Patient in the bushes next to '57 The highway is your girlfriend as you go by quick Suburban trees, suburban speed And it smells like heaven(thunder) And I say roadrunner once Roadrunner twice I'm in love with rock & roll and I'll be out all night Roadrunner That's right
Well now Roadrunner, roadrunner Going faster miles an hour Gonna drive to the Stop 'n' Shop With the radio on at night And me in love with modern moonlight Me in love with modern rock & roll Modern girls and modern rock & roll Don't feel so alone, got the radio on Like the roadrunner O.K., now you sing Modern Lovers
(Radio On!) I got the AM (Radio On!) Got the car, got the AM (Radio On!) Got the AM sound, got the (Radio On!) Got the rockin' modern neon sound (Radio On!) I think I know now whats making me sad Its a yearnin for my own back yard I realize maybe I was wrong to leave Better swallow up my silly country pride
Going home, running home Down to gasoline alley where I started from Going home, and Im running home Down to gasoline alley where I was born
When the weathers better and the rails unfreeze And the wind dont whistle round my knees Ill put on my weddin suit and catch the evening train Ill be home before the milks upon the door Gasoline Alley - Rod Stewart & Ron Wood
Going home, running home Down to gasoline alley where I started from Going home, and Im running home Down to gasoline alley where I was born
But if anything should happen and my plans go wrong Should I stray to the house on the hill Let it be known that my intentions were good Id be singing in my alley if I could
And if Im called away and its my turn to go Should the blood run cold in my veins Just one favor Ill be asking of you Dont bury me here, its too cold Take me back, carry me back Down to gasoline alley where I started from Take me back, wont you carry me home Down to gasoline alley where I started from
Take me back, carry me back Down to gasoline alley where I started from Take me back, carry me back Down to gasoline alley where I started from Take me back, carry me back Down to gasoline alley where I started from

Winona's Big Brown Beaver - Primus
Wynonas got herself a big brown beaver And she shows it off to all her friends. One day, you know, that beaver tried to leave her, So she caged him up with cyclone fence. Along came lou with the old baboon And said recognize that smell? Smells like seven layers, That beaver eats taco bell. Now rex he was a texan out of new orleans And he travelled with the carnival shows. He ran bumper cars, sucked cheap cigars And he candied up his nose. He got wind of the big brown beaver So he though hed take himself a peek, But the beaver was quick And grabbed him by the kiwis. Now he aint pissed for a week. (and a half!) Now wynona took her big brown beaver, And she stuck him up in the air. Said I sure do love this big brown beaver And I wish I did have a pair. Now the beaver onces slept for seven days And it gave us all an awful fright. So I tickled his chin and I gave him a pinch And the bastard tried to bite me. Wynona loved her big brown beaver And she stroked him all the time. She pricked her finger one day and it Occurred to her she might have a porcupine.

'Til I gain control again - Rodney Crowell
Just like the sun over the mountaintop You know I'll always come again You know I love to spend my morningtime Like sunlight dancing on your skin I've never gone so wrong As for telling lies to you What you see is what I've been There is nothing I could hide from you You see me better than I can Out on the road that lies before me now There are some turns where I will spin I only hope that you can hold me now 'Til I can gain control again And like a lighthouse you must stand alone Landmark the sailor's journey's end No matter what sea I've been sailing on I'll always pass this way again Out on the road that lies before me now There are some turns where I will spin I only hope that you can hold me now Til I can gain control again

Let it Rock - Chuck Berry
In The Heat Of The Day Down In Mobile Alabama Working on the railroad with the steel driving hammer Gotta make some money to buy some brand new shoes Tryin' to find somebody to take away these blues "She don't love me" hear them singing in the sun Payday's coming and my work is all done
Later in the evening when the sun is sinking low All day I been waiting for the whistle to blow Sitting in a teepee built right on the tracks Rolling them bones until the foreman comes back Pick up you belongings boys and scatter about We've got an off-schedule train comin?two miles about
Everybody's scrambling, running around Picking up their money, tearing the teepee down Foreman wants to panic, 慴out to go insane Trying to get the workers out the way of the train Engineer blows the whistle loud and long Can't stop the train, gotta let it roll on

Into My Arms - Nick Cave
I don't believe in an interventionist God But I know, darling, that you do But if I did I would kneel down and ask Him Not to intervene when it came to you Not to touch a hair on your head To leave you as you are And if He felt He had to direct you Then direct you into my arms
Into my arms, O Lord Into my arms, O Lord Into my arms, O Lord Into my arms
And I don't believe in the existence of angels But looking at you I wonder if that's true But if I did I would summon them together And ask them to watch over you To each burn a candle for you To make bright and clear your path And to walk, like Christ, in grace and love And guide you into my arms
Into my arms, O Lord Into my arms, O Lord Into my arms, O Lord Into my arms
And I believe in Love And I know that you do too And I believe in some kind of path That we can walk down, me and you So keep your candlew burning And make her journey bright and pure That she will keep returning Always and evermore
Into my arms, O Lord Into my arms, O Lord Into my arms, O Lord Into my arms
