It'll take me a whileto find them.

When I do, I'll post both in the funny pics thread.

My question for you is.....How do you decided to let back in and who is going to stay booted?

AFAIK my offense and that of CAGIV's was to complain about unfair treatment or to ask where everybody was.

I think JP was just kidding when he said that he could pull the file and see what the offense was.....

but like I said who makes the call.

As a pedophile and wife beater I know my chances are slim but....

How would I decide ?

You want it spelled out for you. ABCD, 1234.

Then you'll choke on this gnat, whine about that nit, and call the whole thing entirely unfair.

If you want to know how I would decide... read the posts I have made in just this thread alone.

If you can't figure it out from that, then good luck to you...

No. IF your chances are slim, it is because of what drives you to keep harping on, when you have been told to stop it because you are acting like a child.

Far as I know I never said it was unfair, but if you say so...it must be. I'm just wondering if saying bite me is ok , but saying there will be more abortions under Obama is not ok.

Just trying to figger out what the standard is, that's all.

Guess I'll just sit go in the corner and shut up. I'll try not to laugh at anymore bobbys jokes since that not cool anymore.

BTW You must amissed the smiley after pedophile and wife beater, necessary these days due to the impaired sense of humor going around ....

Guess we gotta start with <<<jokes follows>>> then....<<<end Joke>>>

I have neither the time nor the inclination to continue to participate in never-ending childishness.

Go sit in the corner if you wish.

Blame it on me, if you wish.

Just do it in another thread.

I've got more than a handfull of admirable qualities but trying to stir up trouble is neither admirable nor correct.

If you think that the purpose of my post was to stir up that pot then you were mistaken. My intention was to let you folks know I was here...that's it! I'm not going to apologize for that.

I don't get any manpoints by eggin people into angrier comments or rebuttals. There are plenty of folks here abouts who know which hot buttons to hit and how hard, you/they don't need me for that.

Gotta get back to work.

ted

Then you, sir, have my most abject apologies.

I was indeed mistaken.

I hope you will accept my apology.

People will self-regulate.

Well, I say THAT is bullshit........

Ok this is where we differ....

I believe if you run a tight ship, everybody knows it. In business or in your home.

Now if I allow an employee to get away with murder and only try to correct him when he gets really bad he's going to act up one day in front of the HO and embarrass the hell out of me, or he's gonna goof off till he hurts someone.

Regardless he's definitely going to cost me time and money.

The guys in the tavern pushed the limits, they pressed against the fence till the fence broke. Then the farmer came in with a shotgun and butchered a bunch of them.

It never had to be that way. Better fence building, proper leadership and discipline would have alleviated most, if not all, this kind of bullshit.

I believe in that. I don't believe in over the top threats and ominous warnings. That is the third time I have read you doing so.

There is, of course, the occassional guy who is what you seem to think everybody is. His fellows, if they are disciplined will get him in line soon enough. Only the worst (and the constant complainers) deserve to be shot.

Men can self regulate. Do you think those guys were civil last night because they read your diatribe?....or because they realized it is smart to be civil in a meeting or a negotiation?

I will be gone from your forum as soon as JP is so no need to say much else. Just trying to help you out a bit.

Cause brother, you may have the wand in your hand, but you are still a part of the orchestra.

The guys last night were quite reserved and listened to JP even when he didn't especially give them what they wanted.

Just an opinion from a happy home builder.

Well like I told Luka..........the patients took over the asylum cause no one was minding the store.

Mike there is usually one main reason why a military unit gets the coveted "elite" designation. It's discipline.

There's usually one main reason why a framing crew earns a good rep . . . discipline

The reason why your kids are considered good or bad usually hinges on one word.....discipline

The reason why this country is in such a mess?.....the lack of said discipline.

I'm not a member of the Taverns inner circle, but have been hanging around a while. Great guys. Find out who's behind the posse and boot THEM out. I bet at least one or two of them are still active members.

Too bad it had to come to this.

We should take this to another thread. We are hijacking JP's thread.

That said... I think your problem is with me, and not with what I am saying/doing.

If Calvin, or Mike, or Vince or CagIV had said the same thing that I have said, you would not have taken it as some sort of ominous warning.

You would have taken it for exactly what it is. A statement of fact. A "wave of the wand".

After all, if I am the guy with the wand, what am I supposed to be doing ? Just sitting there with my elbows on the podium, watching the orchestra do whatever the hell it pleases ?

Dude. All I am doing is not.... allowing people to get away with murder and then correcting them after they get really bad. (I made that mistake in the original tavern thread, here at QT. I am not going to make that mistake again.)

It is you who are interpreting it to be some kind of evil iron fisted flouting of power.

That is your own problem.

And I hope you stick around. I really do.

Apology accepted but not necessary.

Next "beverage" is on me.

Be well and prosper.

BTW:
Quote:

If I thought that everybody was that way, why would I go to the trouble of explicitly saying that the vast majority are not that way. It is the vocal, destructive minority that cause the problems, and have to have the stick waved at them. Therefore causing the stick to be waved at all.

And... It has already been PROVEN that "his fellows" will NOT get him in line. Sooner, later, ever...

Those fences would never have been broken, and the farmer never would have gotten out his shotgun, if "His fellows" would have gotten him in line in the first place.

No more highjacking....but you are wrong...no vendetta

I do the same to my own kids and I love them......

If I were to pick on you for just being the SYSOP or for the 'like' you thing that would make me everything I am talking against........

So what the hell I think we both can agree it's a good thing that JP is talking again, let's just leave it at that....

looking forward to the grand finale

hope it's a newly reopened, remodeled Tavern and the guys have learned not to throw their peanut shells on the floor........

Polcat, if you read back over all this, you'll see that you and I are saying exactly the same thing, on almost everything.

We agree almost completely.

The only problem we are having here, is interpretation.

There have been no blanket parties. There have been no fellows getting others in line.

And the result is what we have had. Both at BT, and in the original tavern thread, here.

I am trying to implement a 'tight ship' as you called it... and you are interpreting that as me 'flouting power' or some such.

You can't have a blanket party without a blanket. ( Or soap and towels. )

And you can't tell me to tighten the ship up, then make it out to be some kind of evil doings, when I do.

part of the problem of peer pressure is the perceived position of the peer

if i were to call out some of my conservative friends for their behavior i would be derided for not calling out a liberal

if i call out a liberal, then i get the olde..... neener, neener, neener response.. " well they did it first"

IE: who am i to be making judgements..... i have often told posters that i thought they were beyond the pale.... it had zero effect.. or.. it had the effect of a response from across the aisle

i feel that the best ( as in most effective ) response to some of those childish posts was NO RESPONSE..

and yet.... you could tune in , day after day.... same thread.. same dumb thing..... same three or four people taking on the same three or four adversaries.... and some of these are pretty intelligent people....

how do you have a blanket party in cyberspace ? i saw this same stupid behavior in the old FredL / Fuscoe flame wars... how stupid were those things ?.. yet , we all know the participants were very smart people

and those were in discussions where not everyone had a position

in the current case it was about political leanings..... and everyone had a dog in that fight

i think good active mods and more none-response might be the key
