Was the picture you posted one with the "stamp" or without?
Either way, thanks for posting and taking one for the team.

Ut OH !!!
Have you seen JHOLE'S flashing method ?
Personally, I think he needs a new overcoat. That one is getting rather ragged.
@ Luka -- Tooooo Funny.
@JHole -- good suggestions. We will lay out ground rules and let mods carry them out, not make up rules on case by case basis
Didn't see pic but think it would be ok in a pinup pic thread -- on another forum. I don't really care but those things go to customer service, you know?
As an aside, makita is using pinups now for marketing

hmmm
I wonder how this thread would spiral in the tavern?
Was just thinking I could try and grant access with my iPhone, but prospero is pc only and something unexpected might happen, like giving JHole admin status

That's actually part of the charm of BT, seeing creative minds in action.

No sense taking a chance like that.
Glad to see you have a sense of humor.

Alright, sit down.
Several yrs ago our lumber yard in Bowling Green hosted the Makita girl to meet, greet and sign posters. It happened every year for maybe 4.
I missed the first yr, but the boys at the yard got me one of those-to cal, from ? Pretty sweet-looked good in the shop.
The next one, didn't want to miss that one-was working in Toledo at a Flower Wholesaler. Since it happened to be my anniversary or Joyce's birthday or something......I ask the owner if I could buy some roses. Sure calvin-here's a box-no charge. I thanked him and mentioned the box seemed large-seems all the roses came packed two dozen to a bundle. They were beauts.
So remember, Miss Makita and I'm not going to miss this one. I race down to the yard-place is packed-end up parking in the back. I go in the back door..........but wait-I've got 2 dozen-Joyce won't miss one..........
So I walk in the back door-look to the right and there's a sweet Miss Makita. I look at the line leading to the front door-look back at Miss Makita-she turns, sees me and smiles. What the heck-I walk up and give her the rose. Man, what an ice breaker. She stops with one of the line boys, proceeds to tell me it's the sweetest thing anyone's ever done at one of these shows-signs me a letter on her poster........I was ecstatic. Did notice some looks from the line boys.
You might think that's the end of the story.........
And you'd be wrong. The following year-sign posted that Miss Makita would be at the yard. I make note-but forget. Just happened to need material and drove over-place packed again-me not knowing it's Makita day. Walk in the back as usual and low and behold there's the table-Miss Makita and another line of goons drooling all the way to the front door again. Now all the previous yrs the Makita girl is new. NOT THIS TIME> She sees me, gets up and walks over and lays a huge hug and smooch on me. I'll be, Miss Makita from the previous year and she has a memory like a trap!
Imagine the look on my competitions faces seeing this. I was one proud mutha!
Believe me-it was better in person.

Great story. Stuff like that happens too rarely.
Man, you were the Big Dog for a while after that I guess. Good for you.
Now wipe that smile off your face. :-)

Don't know how radical the changes to BT will be or even if it's your domain but it would be nice to see some continuity if the format changes. I've been hangin' around BT since before Petefest and have learned more from the board than from magazine. Over the years there's been lots of great stuff- Mike's Mooney wall threads, Splintie's floor refinishing piece, Jim's "Boogerin' With Blue" framing saga and Basswood's setup for his big Mak sidewinder come to mind. Some of it I think has been lost and I think it would be a shame to lose more. If there is a way to catalogue and archive these threads and ressurect the lost ones and then make them easy to access- you'd have one h*ll of a resource.

"I wonder how this thread would spiral in the tavern?"
There is a lesson here for you. Just watch what happens here. It would probably be the same outcome there.
The difference - more complainers. They would make it seem worse than it really is.
This won't go too far.
Same people. With even less babysittin', and it won't go too far. Just watch. I could be wrong. Don't think i am.
You seem to have my number for some reason.
If you want to be like me, you'll have to start drinkin' alot more, and get a real job. Let that ride for 20 more years and if you're still around I'll think about takin' you under my wing. Maybe I'll let you shovel Cal's snow.

Cal. Let me help you clean up. I can't believe they all ran out like that. Want me to put these folding chairs outside for the rental guys?
Who licked all the frosting off the cup cakes then put them back?
