I'm going to begin teaching a course at our local University this Monday........It is a course on Mathematics Methods and Inquiry Learning......This is a course for pre-service teachers going into their student teaching.......
I'm looking forward to it, but, I've also never taught anyone over the age of 14!!

Thanks, Luka......I know the subject, just want to get it across.........When students are paying money to get an education, I really feel an obligation to deliver...................
Ha, that sort of goes against public education, doesn't it??

Coffee's still hot......Just got back from our local Farmer's market.......Got some cool lettuce and humungus chives!!
Whoops, maybe this goes in the gardening forum.......
Guess you don't like catfish either?

that works both ways too! A "grownup" who is spending his hard earned $ and valuable time to take a course is less likely to slack off and not give it his/her best shot.
I would think that this would be a big plus in the motiavation department.
The drawback is you cant take a switch to 'em if thier bigger than you!

Agree....These are students at a local Urban University being prepared to go into Education.......
Some of these students will be in their 20's, some in their 30's and even some in their 40's........
If they're bigger than me, I'll just call a campus cop!!

When I was considering being an art teacher, I was thinking of the beginning college level for just that reason. Before college, art is just playing games. It's an easy grade, and most students are ignoring the teacher and the lessons.
When they get to college, they are both, more focused on what they actualy want to do... and paying for it, and so less likely to sluff off.
As for the spanking. Well.... if she asked nicely...
