Sorry Sphere, I didn't mean to come across as having an attitude with you.

Bill, you are posting just fine.
Don't think too hard about what you see.
Just push the button. If it works, great. If it doesn't, just ask...

Accepted, we're ( Darcy, I and now SeeYou) are, were, curious as to how you have info about the access of others..or lack thereof.
When Rez himself stated that he was out, and you contended he wasn't , I asked if you had heard from him, I wasn't crediting you with ESP. Sorry if I mislead you in my question.

PlumbBill
I am probably the reason that I you got some emails about you coming back to the Tavern.
I had a new ID of PlumbJoe for a couple of days before I ejected myself.
More below
--------------------
I got an email from Bobby via CT.
And one earlier from Joe (Hasbeen) asking about what was going on.
I just sent both of them emails pointing them here.
---------------------
Unlike most of you slow pokes I was locked out the week before the election.
After I found out that I was baned and that it was not system problems and that they would not say why I signed back up as PlumberJoe.
I had a specific technical question about electrical power meters that I though maybe Dave Richardson might be able to answer. And I wanted to get it within a couple of days for someone that I was trying to help in another forum.
And I went into the Tavern to try and see if there was some talk about why I had been baned.
But I did not see anything. Also threads that I had been reading and/or participating in both in and out of the tavern had 100's or "new" messages in them. So to keep up I would have to go back read all of those. And no way to find waiting messages to "me".
And not know if I had been baned because someone did not like my punctuation or what? And thus the "new me" could easily be banned for same or different "error" and not have any reason why.
I just got sick to my stomach.
I already realized that I did not want to hang around anymore and was waiting for a reply to my question from Dave.
Then another user started stalking me.
And Dave had not responded so the Sunday before the election I posted a Goodbye messages one in breaktime and one outside. The just said that Bill Hartmann would no longer be particpating in the forums.
In SEPARATE messages I posted strong complaints about the treatment (not sending an email that I had been baned, but instead using an system error message to "try again") and the person stalking me.
I could not find any way to delete an account, but I deleted the email address associated with that account and changed the password to a "random" one that I would not remember and deleted all of the cookies. So I have no idea if that account got banned or any responses.
However, the next day Prospero had a meltdown when they tried to change some software and all of the forums was screwed up.
I was able to enter Breaktime as a Guest, read only. And of course the not able to see the Tavern.
But my goodbye had been deleted.

OK, Luka
Question.
I clicked on the Quick Reply next to PB's message so it would show to him.
Then when I tried to post it I got an error message "The form you have submitted is no longer valid. "
I could post it as a new message using the form at the bottom.
The tried the same thing ago to you r message and same problem.
I can only past a message to the end of the thread.

Bill, I am not exactly sure what the problem is there.
I suspect it has something to do with how long it takes you to compose and push the post button.
Changes in your ip, (AOL, for example has a dynamic IP system, where they change your IP constantly, even while you surf.), or maybe changes on the board, (a post by someone in some other thread, etc.), or a combination, or neither, before you push the post button, may be invalidating the form... I don't really know.
And I still don't have enough data, to frame a worthwhile question to the tech people.
When I know WHAT to ask, I'll more likely get a worthwhile answer, and then I can pass it on here, or just fix it, if that is even possible on my end of the deal...

Aye, and there's the rub.
Am I just artful dodger enough to evade expulsion; or just too milquetoast ro warrant the effort?
maybe I've been better at going offline with PM rather than being as invective as reflex might have made me. Or, I'm just too marshmellow. That dichotomy may be endemic (or genetic) at this point.
Or, perhaps it's because my p/t job has always required wordcraft while also making a point of professional requisite in following JPJ's directive.
Don't know. mabe the laser sights thread will go over the top. Or not. (But, given my familiarity with the way raid gear gets that mix of sweat, mildew, smoke and gas crystals and either Lysol or Fabreeze after a while might cause me to slip . . .)

Is there a way to find messages directed to "you" or threads you've posted in similar to BT?

The only thing we have similar to that is if you go to your "my home" page, then scroll down to the "Subscribe / Unsubscribe" frame, and choose to edit.
Inside there, you can choose to get email notifications of new posts to threads you have posted to, and/or email notifications of personal messages.

So what happened to you at BT? Did you get a total ban? I was off the tavern for a while but back on now.

In the past week, there have been a number of times I check into BT, and feel like some of the stores - say HD where it is a large vacumn with nobody there and nothing goiong on.
Then as I leave, I see a bunch of contractors standing around talking in the parking lot, complaining that they got kicked out of tjhe store and wondering where they will be buying stuff now that the other stores in t0wn have been run out of business.

I believe you are now suffering from reverse PTSD....:)
The battle went down and you weren't there to enjoy the agony.........and the extacy
but I'm sure there is plenty of time to redeem yourself by, you know, grab that m16 and start firing from the hip as you dash into tree line shooting back at the ambusher..............
Then you can be dead like the rest of us.:0

of course you can always be of use in a more non convential way.........but it's dangerous work
and spies fare poorly once captured.
Are your escape/evasion techniques up to par?
