The attitude they have towards theirs would sink the referral only operation I'm pretty darn proud to operate. But hey, just a dumb carpenter.

You know, it doesn't go without notice, that since Andy Engle left, nobody from fhb contributes anything to the bt site. You don't seem to know just how lucky you are.
You've got pros who like to hang out here. While they're hanging out, they give your target diy'ers the advice they need... drawing in more diy'ers... and they're buying into taunton stuff.
These pros are your salespeople, and they're not even on commission. You shucked them out of the tavern, now, it seems, you want to shut down this professionally informative folder???
I just renewed my scrip to fhb. Most of the articles are on the sketchy side, ie the stair remuddling one which stated that stairs with over 4 risers don't need a handrail. Don't you realize that some folks actually believe what you print, whether it's right or not. I. actually, use your mag for the ads... but I don't have to.
Anyway, you chucked a bunch of people out of here that shouldn't have been chucked... and unless you respond to this. I'm canceling my subscription, and pushing that course on anybody I meet that does subscribe.

Boy, I hate to get in touch with Andy and ask. He's been gone from BT for quite a while. Even some of his compradres from b/4 have moved on. It'd just put him on the spot in something he really has no business with anymore.

I'm all for marching on Taunton......probably the only fest I would ever attend........The summer of 09 march on Taunton fest.........
We could all be on CNN..........I could wave to my grandkids........give them a "I remember when" moment......
Give Andy the bully pulpit........and the guy that writes music (forget his name) could be in the background playing a Pete Seeger style protest song...........we could chant cool things like

Actually is was the throwaway line at the end, some of the Cooks were whining because it was turning in to another Breaktime gripe thread so I said that I would make sure that I title all future gripes with (insert bad word here, starts with b and rhymes with witches) in it with a capital POL.
Doesn't look like were ever going to get the Boss back, they're eating up his tater tot casserole.

of course it's real. And it's an example, whether made in an email or even out in the open of how things should be done.
Real offensive-the mod deletes the offending post-notifies the poster.
Not that damn difficult.
Follows the rules and ideals. It's there site-they have a right. That you contribute gives you something-that is, you aren't nothing.
I know first hand, personally etc the trials and tribulations of running, monitoring, being responsible for an albeit small public forum........so I'm not speaking in tongues on this. It's not easy by any means, you don't want to offend the public and you sure don't want to offend the patron. There's got to be at least in the beginning a middle road.
Still and all, remember-this from a getting smarter but still, dumb carpenter.............
with some underground newspaper experience.

Well personally I didn't think it was that offensive since I was using b rhymes with witches in the sense of griping and not female dogs. Bt it's not my forum so I did as I was told. But none the less I edited as requested and all is hunky dory.
You want me to drop some f bombs here so you can get back iinto moderating shape?

To be fair, I received emails like that in the past from BT mods.
I took note & moved on usually replying to them acknowledging that I got their email & tell them point taken.

Well you have to realize whenever you have a group of people that group forms a certain personality and even though people come and go that personality will not change much. That includes business, bars, family, churches, forums, etc.
And each has their own set of unwritten "rules".
CT is closer to your mothers tea club while BT is closer to a biker bar.
