Hi folks, Is there a product that «Really» seals Knots in Pine that will be painted? I've used oil base primer (1 coat) and 3 coats of Latex paint, both of best quality and months later, Trace of knots started to reappear on my work! I'm desperate! A Shellac maybe? Any Idea? Thanks JP Maher |

I see terry has advised you in the other thread. Shellac primer is the ticket, however heat seems to even bypass that technique. I've installed new "barn siding" on top of rafters to finish porch ceilings. Seems even with an air passage above via furring, the heat from the roof is enough to cause some knots to bleed through the shellac primer. |

We typically will seal knots in painted pine with a 2lb cut shellac and then primer over it. |
