Nothing?

No one got nothing?

9 "reads" ... come on people ... you want something to read you gotta type something first.

Anyways ... I did not fall off a ladder and fall yesterday.

Shooting for much the same today ... from higher up.

On yeah ... also dropped off the first Progress Payment Invoice. If I have to run to the bank it'll be good.

Re: Hey ...

I like these customers.

dropped off the invoice yesterday ... picked up a check off the dining room table this morning.

Hope to try that again sometime next week.

Re: Hey ...

Took a plane ride to do a bath Re-hab @ my brothers house. Full gut job, down to studs, upgrade plumbing electric, new tub, Anderson window,R-8 per inch insulation, tubs got air jetts, slick drywall finish. The tile came out nice,(brought some nice liner bar with me).
About 9 days total, then when we get back we got a kitchen & some other small stuff lined up.
All in all "Life is Good!"

Re: Hey ...

Funny you talk about falling off a ladder, they took the guy next to my brothers house away in the meat wagon, tonight. A-lot of rain around here, was up cleaning the gutters, slipped about 2 hours ago.
I feel real bad for the guy, got a bunch of his tools to help with the job.
He is also having some family party there this week end & needed help seting up tents for the party.
Will help out as the guy seems Square!

Re: Hey ...

so far so good ... no meat on the street.

got thru the danger zone today ... tomorrow should be safer.

Next week brings a new level of challenges.

someday I'll take a job that didn't scare everyone else off! Seems to be my "niche"

Re: Hey ...

I stopped in to ket some customers pick out locksets for 4 doors.

HO walks into his office and comes out with a check for 1200.

I said I'm not done yet,

him: you will be next week??

me no we are starting a big job on monday( his wife knows this and is OK with me finishing as time permits).

so he takes check back and hands me one for 600 for the breakfast nook bench I put in a thursday.

cool!

love it when customer has checks all ready to hand you!!

the guy that has been keeping me busy has about a half dozen people out there who are dragging out paying.

I don't know if I should tell him this story...

Re: Hey ...

Working up a preliminary drawing and quote for a sizable addition.
This is the FIRST customer that finished our initial conversation discussing what he needs/wants with a realistic budget.
He even prioritized his wants to be fit into the budget as possible.

Wish that happened more often.

Terry

Re: Hey ...

I'm in the beginning phase with a client on a 2K sq ft basement finish ... and she also started with a fairly realistic budget. And we've already made some changes that should lower the cost, and she's just agreed to look at a lower priced fireplace that will also knock $1K off the total.

Really hope it goes thru ... nice to work with reality based customers.

... had to run home to get my wallet. Can't buy lunch w/o money ... but now I'm here ... sandwich time. Wasting time but saving money.

Re: Hey ...

Since you didn't ask, "What have you builders been doing?" I guess I'll answer as well. Just got back from a 2 week banking school in Boulder, CO. They sure have good weather in July, especially compared to SW Missouri. But talk about your weirdos...Boulder definitely has their share and then some. Played golf at a nice course, Indian Peaks. Drank some good micro brews, ate some good burgers. Now it's back to doing my part to improve the economy.

Re: Hey ...

Good day ... got to within a coupla hours from being "done" with the second side of the house I'm siding.

Plans to type up the second progress payment invoice today ... leave it on the table at 9am ... and be past that point as far as full completion by Noon.

If things go as they've been ... check will be waiting on Monday morning ... if not hand delivered thru the screen door while we're working thru the weekend.

Not gonna hit my original plans to get the 3rd side done for "extra" money before we go away ... but it'll all be waiting there for me when we get back.

Good day ... on schedule.

Re: Hey ...

Same here, while were still waiting for somebody to put one of them E-stars next to my name, we were out getting it done.
Swapped out an old POS slider door with a French unit today. Started about 9am & were done by 4pm with $$ in hand!
Best part, it was within a 1/4 mile of the house. Were taking a new approch & networking in a 2 mile raduis of the house. Small jobs, were in, were out & best of all were paid PDQ. Have a small kitchen job, some window replacements & a flooring job on the to do list & a basement bathroom thats got a 50/50 chance of happening.
Think will take a day off next week & get on the bike & passout 100-200 flyers & see what other dirt we can dig up.
