With the passing of Fred the RhodeIsland Red rooster and the death of the pet dog, the once active front porch began getting a bit somber until the lack of the dominant ones became noticed by the neighbor's gaggle.

Is gaggle of chickens the same use as gaggle of geese or is it called a flock?

Anyhow, now the ensueing race for worms and grubs and whatever is on by I don't know how many, large and small, looks like more than one family.
They have taken to sitting on the porch rails in this wet rain.

Rather unique talking into air like this.
Kinda makes one inclined to wax poetic.
